Last updated May 17, 2026. MetalBrief is a browser-based precious metals dashboard, article archive, and newsletter site. We use privacy-conscious product measurement, advertising services, newsletter providers, affiliate tracking, and optional AI features to operate and improve the site.

Local Storage

Portfolio rows, cost basis, alert levels, currency preference, dashboard settings, and similar preferences are stored in your browser local storage. They are not uploaded to MetalBrief unless you choose to use a feature that uploads or syncs that data.

Analytics and Advertising

We may use Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and similar measurement or ad services. These services may process page URL, referrer, device and browser information, approximate location, IP address, ad impressions, clicks, and cookie or consent signals according to their own policies.

Newsletter and Forms

If you submit an email address or preference form, the submission may be sent to a newsletter or form provider. Those systems may store email address, subscription frequency, timestamp, form source, and delivery or engagement metadata.

AI Chat and Generated Content

The chat feature may send your prompt, topic context, and recent dashboard state to an AI provider such as OpenAI when the feature is enabled. Do not enter sensitive personal, financial, account, tax, legal, or transaction information into the chat.

Outbound Links and Affiliates

Some dealer, sponsor, or partner links may route through a redirect link before sending you to the partner. We may log click time, placement, destination domain, page path, referrer, user agent, IP-derived metadata, and campaign parameters to measure performance and prevent abuse.

Affiliate Links

Some dealer or partner links may include affiliate tracking. Sponsored and affiliate links are disclosed near the placement before users click. We do not sell personal portfolio data.

Your Choices

You can clear local dashboard data from your browser, use browser privacy controls for cookies and ad personalization, unsubscribe from newsletter emails, and avoid submitting optional forms or chat prompts.
